Who makes Ordfoss

Ordfoss is made by LoomWright Games LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Wisconsin, United States, in June 2026. The company is owned and run by James Conrad, a senior gameplay systems engineer who has been building Ordfoss since 2016.

It is a small operation, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. There is one engineer, no outside investors, and no venture funding. What that buys you is a product with a single clear owner: when you email support, you reach the person who wrote the code.

What Ordfoss is

Ordfoss is a desktop application for Windows that combines a word processor with a structured workspace for the material behind a piece of writing: a codex of characters, places and factions; a timeline on a calendar you define; maps; spreadsheets; branching dialogue; screenplay formatting; and constructed-language tools.

Its distinguishing feature is that it treats a fictional world as structured data rather than as documents, which means the software can check the world against itself — and tell you when a scene references a character who was, by your own timeline, already dead.

It is used today by writers, narrative designers, game masters and researchers.

What Ordfoss does not do

This section exists because it is the question a security team asks, and the answer is short.

Security and responsible disclosure

If you have found a security issue in Ordfoss or on this site, please write to [email protected]. We will acknowledge your report, keep you updated while we fix it, and credit you if you would like us to. Our security.txt carries the same contact in machine-readable form.
