Terms of use

These terms cover the Ordfoss application and the ordfoss.com website, both provided by LoomWright Games LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Ordfoss you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be survived.

1. Your licence

While Ordfoss is in early access it is provided free of charge. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use it on any number of computers you control, including for commercial work. Anything you write with it is yours to sell, publish, licence or produce without any claim from us.

2. Your work is yours

You own everything you create in Ordfoss. We claim no right, title, licence or interest in your projects, your text, your worlds, or anything you produce with the software. Your files stay on your own disk in open, documented formats, and export will always work — at every tier, including free. That is a standing commitment, not a current-version promise: we will not build a version of Ordfoss that holds your work hostage.

3. What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell or sublicense the installer or the application itself.
• Remove or alter copyright or attribution notices.
• Represent Ordfoss as your own product, or use our name or marks to imply we endorse something we have not.
• Use the software to break the law.

Nothing here restricts anything you are permitted to do by applicable law, and nothing restricts what you write.

4. Third-party AI providers

Ordfoss's AI features are inactive until you configure a provider and supply your own key. When you do, requests go from your machine directly to that provider. Your relationship with them is governed by their terms and privacy policy, not ours; we are not a party to it, we do not see the content, and we are not responsible for what they do with it. You are responsible for the cost of your own provider usage.

5. Early access, and what that means

Ordfoss is under active development. Features change, bugs exist, and formats may evolve between releases. Keep copies of work you cannot afford to lose, as you would with any preview software. The application takes automatic snapshots and keeps version history, but that is not a substitute for your own backups.

6. No warranty

Ordfoss is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of data loss.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LoomWright Games LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from your use of or inability to use Ordfoss. Our total aggregate liability arising out of these terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for Ordfoss in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

8. Pricing and future paid tiers

Early access is free. If and when paid tiers exist, any limits introduced will apply going forward only. We will not retroactively lock, hide or degrade a project you have already made. Existing work stays openable and exportable.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be called out in the release notes. Continuing to use Ordfoss after a change means you accept the revised terms.

10. Ending the licence

You may stop using Ordfoss at any time; uninstalling from Windows Settings leaves your project files untouched. We may end this licence if you materially breach these terms. Sections 2, 6, 7 and 11 survive the licence ending.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Wisconsin have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
